MOSCOW, January 5 Roscosmos and Rocket and Space Corporation (RSC) Energia have signed a contract for the production of spacecraft for flights to the International Space Station in 2025-2027, the Roscosmos press service told reporters.
“In March 2023, a state contract was concluded with the S.P. Korolev Rocket and Space Corporation Energia for the production of spacecraft for the implementation of the International Space Station flight program in 2025-2027,” the statement says.
It is noted that the contract was concluded “in order to ensure the continuity of the domestic manned program during the creation of the Russian orbital station in accordance with the order of the government of the Russian Federation issued in 2022.”
Roscosmos recalled that in 2023, two Russian manned spacecraft, Soyuz MS-23 (unmanned) and Soyuz MS-24, flew to the ISS, as well as four trucks, Progress MS-22, Progress MS -23″, «Progress MS-24» and «Progress MS-25». In addition, the Soyuz MS-22 in an unmanned version and the Soyuz MS-23 with a crew returned from the station. More than 10.5 tons of dry cargo, water, gases and fuel were delivered to the station.
Russian cosmonauts went into outer space six times in the past year. In addition, the Multipurpose Laboratory Module (MLM) «Nauka» was integrated into the Russian segment of the ISS. 51 experiments were carried out on the Russian segment of the ISS, the results of 48 of them are being processed. Six experiments are completely new.
Also in 2023, the Russian government extended the operation of the Russian segment of the station until 2028, an agreement was signed on the flight of the Belarusian cosmonaut in the spring of 2024, and an agreement was reached with NASA to continue cross-flights until 2025 inclusive.
