The Indian Navy came to the aid of a Liberian ship attacked by pirates in the Arabian Sea
The Indian Navy has successfully evacuated 20 crew members from a ship that unknown assailants tried to hijack in the Arabian Sea, reports the Associated Press.
The cargo ship Lila Norfolk, flying the flag of Liberia, sent a message: armed people boarded. The Indian Navy sent a ship to assist the vessel. As noted in the publication, “after several hours of observation,” a group of military men boarded the ship, which signaled the seizure.
The military searched the board, but did not find any strangers. The Navy thought that «the pirates most likely abandoned the hijacking attempt after being warned by the Indian Navy.» Still, just in case, it was decided to evacuate the crew.
Next, the Indian ship provided assistance in restoring power supply so that after the situation normalized, the ship could resume its journey.
