State Television and Radio Company «Kuban» reported on its website about the death at the age of 48 of the head of the Internet division, Zoya Konovalova.
«The cause of death is said to be poisoning,» the company said in a statement. Other details of the circumstances of the journalist's death are not provided.
Zoya Konovalova worked in Moscow as a correspondent for the Mike and Yunost radio stations, and in 2003 she moved to Kuban. She worked as an editor and presenter of the Vesti. Kuban program, and also broadcast on the Ekaterinodar TV channel.
In addition, she headed the news editorial office on First Radio and information broadcasting on the Kuban 24 TV channel. Later she became the head of the news portal Yuga.Ru, and more recently she headed the online editorial office of the State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company Kuban.
Zoya Konovalova is survived by a daughter and a son. Colleagues expressed deep condolences to the family.
