MOSCOW, January 15 Law enforcement officers in Russia have brought about two million foreigners out of the shadows over the past three years, Chairman of the RF Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin said in an interview.
““As a result of the measures taken over the past three years, it was possible to bring about 2 million foreign citizens out of the shadows, and the dynamics of the increase in crimes committed by foreign citizens slowed down,” he said.
Thus, the RF IC sent to the courts more than 2.2 thousand cases of crimes committed by foreigners. Along with this, 97 criminal cases against officials who committed crimes in the migration sphere were brought to court.
Bastrykin noted that those who have received citizenship of the Russian Federation must understand that these are not only rights and opportunities, but also responsibilities that they now bear on an equal basis with other citizens.
«As a result, since October last year, out of the number of foreign citizens granted Russian citizenship for the first time, almost 8 thousand persons have been registered with the military, this is about 2.6 thousand of military age and more than 5 thousand subject to conscription upon mobilization and having the right to enroll in military service under a contract. Of these, more than 1.6 thousand have already concluded contracts for military service and 1.4 thousand have been sent for conscription service. And this work is actively continuing,» he concluded.
