MOSCOW, January 15 Interest in Russian cinema is growing; in the first days of 2024, over 14 million people watched domestic films in cinemas, the head of the Russian government said Mikhail Mishustin.
“Interest in domestic films is growing – we see this from the statistics of the cinema halls themselves. In the first days of the new year alone, over 14 million people watched Russian films. The number of tickets sold during these January holidays also increased by 10.5%” , Mishustin said at a meeting with deputy prime ministers on Monday.
According to him, over the past New Year's weekend, Russians also traveled quite actively around the country.
“In the first week, about 1 million people visited nature reserves, museums, exhibitions, more than 200 thousand went to the theaters,” the prime minister noted.
