MOSCOW, January 17Artificial intelligence (AI) will not take jobs away from people, it will be done by other people who know how to use such technologies, said the chief executive officer of asset and wealth management of JP Morgan Chase & Co Mary Callahan Erdos. The speech was broadcast on the forum website.
“»Artificial intelligence will not take away someone's job. It will be done by a person who knows how to use artificial intelligence,» she said, speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
She added that this «opens up the opportunity for a massive shift in finding great talent» who have a computer and an interest in artificial intelligence. Such people “can lead the world,” Erdos concluded.
On Monday, International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva said artificial intelligence technologies will impact nearly 40% of the world's jobs, replacing some and complementing the rest. Among developed economies, according to the head of the IMF, the share of jobs affected by AI is 60%, of which one half will benefit from the technology. For developing economies the figure is 40%, and for low-income countries it is 26%. Georgieva recognized the potential of AI to increase productivity, enhance global economic development and increase incomes around the world. At the same time, she noted the risk of increased inequality and decreased employment.
