MOSCOW, January 19 The concert of singer Kristina Orbakaite in Ulan-Ud was canceled after an appeal from citizens and public organizations, the Ministry of Sports and Youth Policy of Buryatia reports on its VKontakte page.
“»Kristina Orbakaite is not included in the list of foreign agents, her activities is not officially prohibited in the Russian Federation, but taking into account the opinion of citizens and public organizations of Buryatia, the artist’s concert in the Physical Culture and Sports Complex will not take place,” the text says.
Orbakaite’s performance was planned in Ulan-Uda on March 13. Activists of the organization “Combat Brotherhood” of Buryatia had previously spoken out against the concert.”
Social activists called Orbakaite a “foreign agent” who “has no place in the public space.”
They argued their position by saying , that the artist lives in two countries: Russia and the USA, and has still “not decided on her position on the SVO.”
The singer has not yet responded to the cancellation of her concert.
