The scientist spoke about the impact of earthworms on climate warming

MOSCOW, January 19Earthworms limit greenhouse gas emissions from the soil and mitigate climate change, said Anna, Candidate of Biological Sciences, Head of the Laboratory of Structural-Functional Organization and Sustainability of Forest Ecosystems at the Center for Forest Economy of the Russian Academy of Sciences Geraskina.

According to her, the activity of earthworms helps fix organic matter, the soil becomes more stable, and carbon dioxide emissions are reduced.
