Social activists asked to deprive Chulpan Khamatova of the title of People's Artist

MOSCOW, January 19 The head of the Federal Project for Security and Anti-Corruption (FPBC) Vitaly Borodin demanded that actress Chulpan Khamatova be deprived of the title of People's Artist of Russia by sending a corresponding statement to the Russian Ministry of Culture, the document is at the disposal of the editors.
«So, the Federal Project calls for attention on the Russophobic activities of the Russian actress, People’s Artist of the Russian Federation since 2012 – Chulpan Nailevna Khamatova, who in February 2022 signed an appeal to Russian President Vladimir Putin against Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and has been living in Latvia since March 2022,” the message says.< br />In his address, Borodin recalled that “in April 2022, Chulpan Khamatova was reprimanded by a Latvian TV presenter during an interview for the fact that the actress does not condemn the Russian leadership every day. In response, Khamatova stated that she was ready to renounce the title of People’s Artist and considers it “complete nonsense.”

The head of the FPBC asked the Ministry of Culture to submit Khamatova’s candidacy for deprivation of the title for discussion with the president, and also to create a working commission to decide question about the artist for her anti-Russian activities.

The department has not yet responded to Borodin.
