– Apparently, the plane was landing. It can be seen that the transport worker was flying with a large left bank before the fall, says Vladimir Salnikov. – The plane falls on the wing and lowers its nose, as if falling into a tailspin. This happens when one or two engines fail on the left wing plane.
In general, during landing, the flaps are extended to the maximum, 45 degrees. In this position, you can enter the lane at a lower speed, and the mileage will be shorter. If you are landing with a failed engine or two, then the flaps are extended not to 45 degrees but to 30 degrees, so that you can go around if necessary.
The thrust of three working engines may not be enough, since a large turning moment towards the failed engine.
– Yes, in the video the engine is not on fire, no smoke is visible. But the fire might not have occurred after the missile hit. At the same time, the pilots could extinguish the fire by turning off the fuel supply. The engines did not work, and the plane began to roll. It is possible that the wing was also damaged.
– Yes, it looks like he initially followed the landing glide path. Usually, by the way, experienced pilots try to maintain an increased speed in such conditions so that the plane does not fall onto the damaged wing. But here the speed was probably not enough.
