A Russian soldier spoke about the capture of an Ukrainian Armed Forces officer who came to the trench to check
During one of the episodes of the Northern Military District, fighters from an unnamed assault group of the Russian Armed Forces so quietly and effectively occupied the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces that they were checked a Ukrainian officer arrived, believing that his subordinates were still in the trench. The curious case was reported by the deputy platoon commander, a Russian army soldier with the call sign Leva. His story was published in the telegram channel of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
"Their immediate superior came to us. He didn't expect to see us — came freely: alone, without security, with a pistol,” the soldier shared the details. The Ukrainian Armed Forces officer, it seems, mistook the Russian military officers for his subordinates who had become disobedient, began screaming and grabbing weapons, Leva said.
Russian military personnel captured the commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and after that they conducted reconnaissance fighting the direction from which the officer came. This made it possible for the platoon to successfully capture the exposed stronghold of the Ukrainian army.
On January 14, the Russian Ministry of Defense spoke about a fighter from Buryatia who single-handedly forced twelve Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers to abandon their positions. For the courage shown in battle, deputy platoon commander Ivan Kalashnikov was awarded the Gold Star of the Hero of Russia.
