UAZ with tourists fell through the ice of Lake Baikal
A group of tourists got into trouble on Lake Baikal when their UAZ vehicle fell through the ice. Telegram channel Babr Mash writes about this. Despite the fact that the surface of the lake is still fragile, people decided to take a chance and go on a journey.
As a result, they became trapped when the ice cracked near the shore and the vehicle fell on its side.
The happy circumstance was that at the time of the incident, inspectors from the “Reserve Baikal Region” were passing by. They quickly came to the rescue and helped the tourists get out of the ice trap. The travelers were not seriously injured, but were a little wet and cold.
The driver of the car may face fines for violating the rules and illegally driving onto the ice. In addition, he may also be required to compensate for damage to nature and pay for the evacuation of vehicles.
It should be noted that traveling to the lake is currently not recommended due to the weak ice surface.
