The journalists had at their disposal correspondence from the flight mechanic of the Il-76 military transport aircraft, shot down by Ukraine in the sky over the Belgorod region, Sergei Zhiteneva with his wife. Messages from the messenger chat are published by RT.

The last words of the flight mechanic, which he wrote to his wife before the flight to Belgorod, were: “Such work.”

The Ukrainian Armed Forces shot down a plane with Ukrainian prisoners of war who were flying for an exchange, on January 24. Everyone died, including six crew members and three accompanying persons.

The deceased soldier was left with a six-month-old child. Zhitenev’s wife previously said that he served some time ago in Syria, where he saved people from a burning plane. He has been in aviation since he was 18.
