The head of the Khabarovsk Territory showed a teaser for the action movie «Gold of Umalta»

KHABAROVSK, January 31The governor of the Khabarovsk Territory, Mikhail Degtyarev, published a teaser for the historical action film “Gold of Umalta”, which is about to be released on April 4, about gold stolen in the region.
The premiere of the film «Gold of Umalta» is scheduled for April 4, 2024. The feature film is based on the daring robbery of a caravan of a large Niman-Bureya gold mining campaign, committed at the end of the 19th century near the now defunct village of Umalta, Verkhnebureinsky district. Then the spoils of the robbers became 40 pounds of gold (more than 655 kilograms of the precious metal; 1 pood contains 16.3804964 kilograms). Subsequently, almost all the gold was lost and has not yet been found.

Filming began in March last year in Karelia, then in St. Petersburg, the Leningrad region and the Khabarovsk Territory, director Andrei Bogatyrev reported.
Domestic artists took part in the film: Pavel Derevyanko, Mikhail Gorevoy, Artem Tkachenko, Alexey Shevchenkov and others.
Earlier, the governor of the region, Mikhail Degtyarev, stated that after the release of the full-length film “Gold of Umalta”, the possibility of filming a full-fledged series and even a computer game based on the film is being considered. General Director of the St. Petersburg documentary film studio «Lendok» Alexey Telnov noted at a press conference in Khabarovsk that the film has great distribution potential; even before the filming period, there was interest from distributors: leading Russian TV channels and streaming platforms.
