NIZHNY NOVGOROD, February 5 Investigators are looking into the circumstances of the aviation incident with a passenger plane that left the runway in Saransk, reports the central transport department of the Russian Investigative Committee.
According to preliminary data, on the evening of February 5, a passenger plane from Moscow landed at the airport of the capital of Mordovia and upon landing the landing gear drove into a snowdrift. There were no injuries and the plane was not damaged.
“»Investigators of the Central MSUT of the Investigative Committee of Russia are clarifying all the circumstances and causes of the incident. An investigation is being carried out on this fact, based on the results of which a procedural decision will be made,» the message says.
Earlier, with reference to the Federal Air Transport Agency, it was reported that the Saransk airport was closed for arrivals and departures of aircraft after the plane rolled off the runway.
As Sport24 previously reported, on the plane were Honored Coach of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova, coaches Alexey Tikhonov, Svetlana Sokolovskaya, commentator Alexander Grishin, and employees of Channel One. They flew to the city to work at the Russian junior figure skating championship.
