MOSCOW, February 17A woman died and three minors were injured as a result of a head-on collision of cars near the village of Zmievka in the Oryol region. The prosecutor's office is conducting an investigation and a criminal case has been opened, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Oryol region and the regional prosecutor's office reported.
According to the police, the driver of a Kia Serato, moving along the Zmievka-Glazunovka-Trosna highway in the direction of the village of Zmievka, lost control and drove into the oncoming lane, where a collision occurred with an Opel Zafira car moving towards him.
“As a result of the accident, the passenger of the Kia Serato car, a woman born in 1965, died from her injuries at the scene of the accident. The driver of the Kia Serato received bodily injuries. Passengers of the Opel Zafira car — minors born in 2006, 2013 — were also injured. year of birth and 2014. They were taken to a medical facility,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a release.
According to the press service of the prosecutor's office of the Oryol region, supervisory authorities are conducting an inspection in connection with the accident. Compliance with legislation in the field of road safety is checked.
«In connection with the accident, the police opened a criminal case under Part 3 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of traffic rules resulting in the death of a person through negligence),» the prosecutor's office clarified. The progress and results of the criminal investigation, as well as the provision of medical care to minors injured in road accidents, are monitored by the supervisory agency.
