KRASNODAR, February 21 A resident of Krasnodar, who planted a homemade explosive device in the body of a fire extinguisher under a relative’s foreign car, has not yet been charged with the attempt, but was arrested, the regional GUMVD reported.
Earlier, the Kuban headquarters said that a local resident contacted the Krasnodar police and reported that he had noticed a relative near his house who had placed a suspicious object under his car and disappeared. Police officers and members of the Russian National Guard arrived at the scene and found a fire extinguisher under the applicant’s car. The area was cordoned off and residents of three houses were evacuated. An improvised explosive device was found under the foreign car. No one was injured as a result of the incident. Criminal investigation officers detained a 48-year-old local resident.
“»A criminal case is being investigated, initiated on the grounds of a crime provided for in Part 1 of Article 222.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation, forwarding or carrying of explosives or explosive devices),» the message says.
It is noted that the man has been charged and taken into custody.
