A village resident in Armenia discovered a medieval tomb on his property

< br />YEREVAN, February 15 A resident of the village of Oganavan in Armenia, while carrying out excavation work on his site, came across a medieval tomb, the press service of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports reported on Thursday.
“”In the Kasakh gorge, in the village of Oganavan (Aragatsotn region, 35 kilometers from Yerevan – ed.), a local resident, during excavation work on his site, discovered a medieval tomb carved into the rock,” says the message published on the department's website.
It is noted that the find was recorded by employees of the service for the protection of historical and cultural museums-reserves and the historical environment, excavation work was suspended.
““The issue of transferring the discovered archaeological artifacts to the state and urgently carrying out excavations is being discussed,” the ministry said.
In the near future, the medieval tomb will be given the status of a historical monument.
