    Freediver breaks world record by diving 140 meters under ice

    Valentina Cafolla at 140 meters. dive under the ice set a new world record for women in dynamic freediving.

    Cafolla, 27, was competing on Saturday in Lago di Anterselva, Italy, when she achieved this result.

    < p>The previous world record in the women's category was a dive of 126 meters, set by Japanese athlete Yasuko Ozeki.

    Dynamic freediving involves holding your breath while continuously moving underwater.

    Ms. Cafolla, The dual citizen of Italy and Croatia was photographed diving under the ice in a bright orange wetsuit during her record-breaking dive.
