Producer and entrepreneur Pyotr Gavrilov died in as a result of complications after gastric surgery. Before his condition worsened and he was hospitalized in the capital's hospital, he underwent a surgical procedure in a private clinic, writes REN TV.
According to the publication, Gavrilov underwent stomach surgery in a private clinic on February 17. Three days later, when his condition worsened, he again turned to the doctors, who performed a laparoscopy.
«Doctors diagnosed the patient with peritonitis. At night after the procedure, he developed a fever and was transferred from a private clinic to the hospital» , said the source.
Gavrilov was in intensive care. Despite the efforts of doctors, he died from complications after stomach surgery.
Gavrilov’s death became known on February 27. A number of media outlets reported that Gavrilov underwent surgery with plastic surgeon Timur Khaidarov. Khaidarov himself told reporters that he had nothing to do with Gavrilov’s death. According to lawyer Alexander Dobrovinsky, the operation was performed by another surgeon, and then the patient was transferred to another clinic, where surgery was also performed.
Roszdravnadzor reported that it was investigating the circumstances of the man’s death. Inspection is underway.
