This week, patent images of the Russian automaker's new product were published on the Internet, thanks to which we have the opportunity to imagine what the serial one will look like car.
Last summer, the first information appeared about a new family of passenger cars, which will be named Iskra and will gradually replace the Granta model in the range. The latter, by the way, is the most popular car in Russia based on sales results for 2023: slightly less than 200 thousand copies were sold, which is more than three times faster than the second-place Haval Jolion crossover. According to the plan, the Grant will be produced until 2027, after which the Iskra will become the most budget Lada car. And now we have the opportunity to evaluate the appearance of the future new product.

So far, the database of the Federal Institute of Industrial Property (FIPS) has published documents only with patent images of a station wagon, the design of which will be made in the style of the Vesta model. There is almost the same front bumper with a radiator grille and characteristic moldings that turn into headlights. At first glance, the head optics also resemble Vesta, but the blocks will have an original shape with small “fangs” along the edges. The car will also retain the stampings on the sidewalls that have already become signature for the Lada, but they will be made a little simpler in shape. Another design element from Vesta is the “floating” roof at the rear due to black inserts in the rear pillars. At the rear you can note the large original-shaped lights with their own LED lights graphics.

In addition to the station wagon, a new family will include its cross version and a sedan. At the January presentation of AVTOVAZ, it was stated that production of Iskra models will begin in early 2025. In terms of dimensions, the cars will be slightly larger than the Grants and at the same time more compact than the Vesta; they will be built on a modified front-wheel drive French CMF-B platform, which is already used by the third generation Logan. As for the engine range, we can expect that it will overlap with the existing model range of the Russian automaker.

Meanwhile, the Lada Vesta recently returned its cruise -control and increased in price.
