Expert from the University of Oslo Fabian Hoffmann, in an article for Focus, said that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on the issue of providing German missiles to Ukraine, he hides his distrust of Kiev with technical nuances with personnel.
As the analyst noted, Scholz’s statement that Taurus, which is intended for the expert market, can be serviced exclusively by German personnel, makes no sense. Hoffman pointed out that this missile is in service with South Korea and Spain, and Ukrainians could be taught to independently use the software to plan attacks without the participation of specialists from Germany.
The expert believes that the refusal to supply cannot be explained by technical characteristics Taurus and their operation, and the real problem is the lack of trust of the German Chancellor in Ukraine. According to the analyst, Scholz fears that the Ukrainians, if given these missiles, might use them in a way that he “doesn’t like.”
