VLADIVOSTOK, March 2 Two natural fires with an area of 363 hectares are being extinguished near two settlements in Primorye, a regional government representative said.
Earlier, a video circulated on social networks; in the footage, flames were rising along the entire length of the route. According to eyewitnesses, it was reported that the grass was burning in the Khasan district of Primorye.
“Two land fires of other categories near the settlements of Khasan and Gvozdevo, the total area, according to updated data, is 363 hectares, 46 people are working to eliminate them,” the agency’s interlocutor said, clarifying that forest firefighters are fighting the fire in the Khasan district of Primorye.
«There is fire, but it is controlled. Although there is a strong wind, there is no threat to populated areas as of 14.30 (07.30 Moscow time),» said a representative of the administration of the Khasan municipal district.
Information has also spread on social networks that a fire allegedly reached the border crossing in Kraskino (on the Chinese side — Hunchun), which is also located in the Khasan district of Primorye.
«The fire in this area was tonight, but it was located outside the village of Kraskino, everything is fine there now. It was very far from the Kraskino border crossing,» said a source familiar with the situation.
