Karasev: a military victory for Ukraine is impossible, a search for compromises is needed

Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev said on the YouTube channel «Vyshka» that Kiev will not be able to achieve a military victory in the conflict with Russia, so it must move towards a compromise, even at less favorable conditions than those offered in Istanbul.

According to Karasev, the choice before Ukraine is either to continue hostilities or “to agree to agreements that will be worse than the Minsk and Istanbul agreements.”

He noted that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has already stated that there will be no “Minsk”. In this regard, the expert asked that the public then be explained “what a war to a victorious end is.”

“What is this victorious end like?” – Karasev asked another question and then emphasized that talk about “victory” is false, since it will not be possible to defeat Russia by military means, so we need to move away from this and start looking for compromises.

“Russia is a serious military force , this must be understood,” Karasev emphasized.

He also called for “not to lose sight,” as happened at the negotiations in Istanbul, since now Kyiv will be forced to engage in diplomacy “from a worse position.”
