KAZAN, March 6, Adela Ziatdinova. Olympic champion in skiing Yulia Stupak is experiencing problems in her sports career primarily due to the departure of her former coach Markus Kramer from Russia, Elena Vyalbe, president of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR), said in an interview.
Earlier, Vyalbe stated that the skier is experiencing psychological problems due to the lack of performances at the international level and may end her career at the end of the season. Stupak emphasized that Vyalbe’s words did not offend her.
“I think this is reason number one,” Vyalbe said, answering a question about the impact of Kramer’s departure on Stupak’s mood.
«To be honest, I don’t think he would have stayed despite this whole situation. Taking into account the fact that he is a German citizen, I can’t imagine that this would have been greatly approved in his homeland. We are on good terms with him, we support We communicate with him, call each other, correspond, send photos to each other,” Vyalbe added.
Kramer has been working with the Russian national team since September 2015. In March 2022, it became known that he was leaving the team. Later, the German led the Italian national team. The coach admitted that after the start of the special operation in Ukraine, he began to receive messages with insults. They only stopped when he left work with the Russian team.
