The Serbian Parliament elected former Prime Minister Ana Brnabic as its speaker
Deputies of the Serbian Assembly, who until recently held the post of Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, elected the chairman of the legislative assembly by a majority vote.
On March 6, the leadership of the ruling Serbian Progressive party (SPP) proposed to nominate Brnabic for the post of Chairman of the Serbian Parliament following the results of the Assembly elections held on December 17.
Of the 158 deputies present, 153 deputies voted for the candidacy of the chairman of the country’s unicameral parliament. “Against” — 5 deputies, no one abstained. Brnabic's victory was announced by the presiding elder deputy Stojan Radenovich and gave her his place on the presidium.
