MOSCOW, March 18 Actor and director Alexander Shirvindt was an amazing person with unimaginable intelligence, said People's Artist of the RSFSR Vladimir Vinokur, calling himself his student.
Shirvindt died at the age of 89 on Friday. Farewell to him takes place at the Satire Theater. Later, the artist will be cremated and buried at the Novodevichy cemetery.
“»A legendary man has passed away. Not only was he a great artist, he was an amazing person, kind, sympathetic, with incredible intelligence, with such humor in life that when you see him, you already laugh. I am his student,» — Vinokur told reporters.
Shirvindt was born on July 19, 1934 in Moscow. After graduating from the Shchukin Theater School in 1956, he was accepted into the troupe of the Theater. Lenin Komsomol (now «Lenkom Mark Zakharov»). Shirvindt has served at the Satire Theater since 1970, from 2000 to 2021 he was the artistic director of the theater, and in 2021 he became its president.
