MOSCOW, March 25 Salavat Yulaev head coach Viktor Kozlov will continue working next season and sign a new contract, said the general director of the Ufa club of the Continental Hockey League (KHL) Rinat Bashirov.
The decision was made after a meeting with the head of Bashkiria Radiy Khabirov.
“»We had a meeting with Viktor Nikolaevich, with the head of the republic. We discussed the results of the season, noted the positive results of the regular season and the failure in the playoffs. Following the meeting, the head of the republic suggested that Viktor Nikolaevich continue working as head coach. We will soon sign contract and we will begin to form a team and coaching staff,” Bashirov said at a press conference published on the Salavat Yulaev YouTube channel.
This season, Salavat Yulaev took third place in the Eastern Conference following the results of the regular season, but dropped out of the playoffs after the first round, losing to Chelyabinsk Traktor with a score of 2-4 in the series.
