Patent images of the new Lada model in three versions were recently published on the Internet. Previously, we already imagined what a sedan and a regular station wagon would look like, but now it’s the turn of the cross-version.
The first information about the new family, which will be named Iskra, appeared last year. It will replace the Granta model, which, based on sales results for 2023, is the most popular car in Russia, almost four times ahead of its closest pursuer, the Haval Jolion crossover.

Judging by the patent images, the Iskra design is based on the company's latest production models. The station wagon will receive almost the same front end as the older Vesta model. The differences include a slightly more complex shape of the headlights, as well as detailing of the bumper at the bottom and in the area of the side decorative inserts. The characteristic stampings on the sidewalls will become a little simpler due to the absence of lower “branches”. The rear pillars are slightly wider compared to the universal Vesta, and the windows behind the rear doors, on the contrary, are noticeably smaller. The most original view is from the rear due to the lanterns of a new shape and a very impressive size. A distinctive feature of the cross-version will be a black plastic body kit in the lower part of the body and a massive contrasting insert that occupies a large surface area of the rear bumper.

In the technical part, the most interesting element is the new platform for Lada models — it will be the modified CMF-B “trolley”, which was inherited from Renault. The engine range will most likely overlap with Vesta, and among the engines available for the Iskra there may be a 122-horsepower 1.8-liter engine.

The current Lada Granta Cross station wagon, which will be replaced by the car shown in the renderings, is offered today at a price of 945,900 rubles for the version with a 90-horsepower 1.6 engine and 5-speed manual transmission. There is also a 106-horsepower version with an engine of the same volume, the minimum cost is RUB 1,073,900.
Meanwhile, we recently conducted a test drive of the restyled Vesta with the aforementioned 1.8 and a CVT.
