LUGANSK, March 29. A Russian programmer-engineer said in a video that he quit his job in the IT field and volunteered for a special operation zone at the invitation of a friend from the front line.
«I am a programmer-engineer. I came to the volunteer detachment. A comrade who is now on the front line asked me to come help. There are enough brains, but I would like more. We need to recruit more people who understand technology and are not afraid to be in the Northern Military District zone. I quit, they greeted me. We work great,» an engineer-instructor with the call sign «Shaman» told reporters about the reasons for his decision.
Now he is an engineer-instructor for FPV drones in the separate reconnaissance and assault detachment «Cluney» of the volunteer corps of the «Southern» group of forces.
«Shaman» noted that for an FPV drone operator, in addition to basic piloting skills, it is important to understand the tactics of the FPV crew, knowledge of cartography and the ability to interact with other reconnaissance drone operators.
«Ordinary piloting skills, they are acquired literally in a week. Any person, especially a modern person, who has played a console, he already knows how to pilot in one way or another. Another thing is a real operator, a real pilot: he will know the map in Ideally, he will know all the routes, and use his head. The most important technique is to work with his head. Monitor the enemy’s tactics and study these tactics, both in open and closed sources. Must be able to communicate and interact with other intelligence operators,» noted the engineer.
