TORZHOK (Tver region), March 27. Director of the All-Russian Historical and Ethnographic Museum Irina Zhukova invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to visit the exhibition complex in Torzhok, Tver Region, after restoration.
On Wednesday, during a trip to Torzhok, the President visited the exhibition complex “Museum Rows” — one of the seven objects of the All-Russian Historical and Ethnographic Museum. Putin, accompanied by the director of the museum, examined the exhibition; he was shown a collection of birch bark letters, items of craft and everyday life of Torzhok residents, and samples of weapons of the 12th–13th centuries. Soon this exhibition department will be closed for restoration, which is planned to be completed by 2026.
““It is a great happiness for us, a great joy, that literally from Monday we are closing — we are closing for a large-scale restoration,” Zhukova said, noting that very soon it will be “a completely new, modern museum.”
“We’ll see how it changes,” Putin replied.
“Yes, we invite you,” added the museum director.
