“No longer exists”: a British expert spoke about the fate of Kharkov

Kharkov has already ceased to exist as an economic and industrial center, but having completely lost control over the city, Ukraine would become much weaker. This statement was made on Tuesday, April 2, by British expert Alexander Merkouris.

As Merkouris noted in his blog on YouTube, in 2014 Kharkov was the richest city in Ukraine, which means that the city was “turned off” — this is a significant blow to the entire Ukrainian economy.

The state will be able to live without this city, but without Kharkov, Ukraine’s potential will be much less, the analyst concluded.

Meanwhile, the mayor of Kharkov, Igor Terekhov, commented on the reports in the media that preparations for the evacuation of the population have allegedly begun in the city. He admitted that almost the entire energy infrastructure in Kharkov had been destroyed, but assured that there were no evacuation measures yet.

Military expert Anatoly Matviychuk believes that the active part of the battle for Kharkov has already begun. The analyst said that the advanced reconnaissance units of the Russian Armed Forces operate in the Kupyansk direction and reach the suburbs of Kharkov.
