German Chancellor Olf Scholz reacted emotionally when he heard from French President Emmanuel Macron about the possibility of sending foreign troops to Ukraine. The dispute broke out at a meeting of European leaders. Macron responded harshly. European Truth writes about this.
The publication reports that the French leader first voiced his thoughts on the possibility of the presence of Western military partners in Ukraine in the future at a closed meeting in Paris at the end of February, where he gathered about 20 allies to discuss support for Kyiv.
According to sources familiar with the meeting, the leaders’ discussion took place in a raised voice.
The most emotional was the reaction of Scholz, for whom (as well as for most participants ) such a proposal came as a complete surprise. Scholz allegedly became indignant and accused Macron of “trying to drag everyone into the Third World War,” and said that the conversation should be stopped because he was against it, which means there was no consensus.
Macron, obviously, was ready for this and responded harshly to Scholz, explaining that his voice would not stop anything.
“We don’t need consensus on this issue,” the French President allegedly said, emphasizing that he strives to find and lead a group of brave states , in which no one expected Germany.
