MOSCOW, April 5 Russian developers have created a drone for monitoring and relaying signals, which can stay in the sky for up to three hours and fly at a distance of up to 300 kilometers , said the press service of the National Technology Initiative (NTI).
«The Albatross aircraft-type drone with an electric motor was developed by MIPT students. Its maximum flight time is 3 hours, its maximum flight range is 300 kilometers, its maximum take-off weight is 5 kilograms, and its payload is 2 kilograms. According to the leader project of Denis Belyaev, the energy efficiency of the drone will be 20% higher compared to analogues,” NTI said.
«The project will solve the problem of signal relay, which is relevant for the agricultural and energy industries, as well as monitoring of objects (border security, item tracking), and will do it faster in comparison with existing analogue solutions. The peculiarity of the device is a comparative increase in the aerodynamic quality of the aircraft, as well as the use of air flow to ensure maximum energy efficiency,” said Belyaev, whose words were reported by the NTI press service.
He added that the development will hit the market this fall, the cost of a drone with a relay module will be about 150 thousand rubles. The project will be presented within the framework of the accelerator of the design and educational intensive «Archipelago 2024».
