The accused and their defense attorneys have finished familiarizing themselves with the materials of the criminal case opened in the Primorsky Territory after the desecration cultural heritage site on Russky Island.

As reported by the regional headquarters of the Investigative Committee, a 23-year-old man and his 24-year-old girlfriend have been charged with vandalism.

The incident on the island occurred in March of this year. The couple in love left a romantic inscription on the wall of the cultural heritage site of federal significance, “The Complex of Fortifications of the Vladivostok Fortress.”

The investigators were not imbued with romanticism and regarded the actions of the young people as hooliganism. According to the sanctions of the article, the defendants may face up to three years in prison.
