MOSCOW, April 9 In Zelenograd, employees of the Russian Guard detained a drunk man who threatened to set fire to the Church of the Archangel Michael — he himself explained his action by disappointment in God, the press service reports Moscow department of the department.
According to the department, following an alarm signal, employees of the Russian Guard arrived from one of the protected churches on Panfilov Street. “The priest explained that an unknown man entered the temple, used obscene language, threatened physical harm and arson, and also broke the “Inexhaustible Chalice” icon with his fist,” the release says.
The security forces detained the rowdy, a previously convicted 37-year-old native Udmurtia, who “was in a state of alcoholic intoxication and [initially] could not clearly explain the motives for his action.”
In a video published by the department, the man said that he was detained for breaking an icon because «stopped believing in God.» For further investigation, the detainee was handed over to the police, nothing has been reported about his fate.
