Washington and Tokyo agreed on a low-orbit missile tracking system
The United States and Japan have agreed to create a joint low-orbit satellite system to track missiles. This was reported in a statement by US President Joe Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, which was signed after negotiations in Washington. According to information published by the White House press service, plans for cooperation in the field of hypersonic aircraft and possible interaction with American companies were also announced.
The leaders of the two countries expressed joy at the conclusion of an agreement on the exploration of the lunar surface, in accordance with with which Japan will send a lunar rover to the Moon, and the United States will provide the delivery of two Japanese astronauts. Also discussed is deepening cooperation in astronaut training.
At a press conference following the meeting, Biden announced plans to join Japanese astronauts on future American space missions, and that one of them would become the first non-American to land to the moon.
