The premiere of the updated Japanese crossover will take place very soon, but for now, using the available information, we have formed our own idea of the appearance of the new product.< /p>
Nissan Qashqai, named after the Qashqai tribe from the Iranian province of Fars, was first presented in 2004 at the Geneva Motor Show as a concept. The production model with a noticeably redesigned design appeared in 2007. Today, the third generation of the SUV is already on the assembly line, the premiere of which took place at the beginning of 2021. The time is approaching for a planned restyling, and test samples have already been repeatedly spotted by photo spies. And at the beginning of this week, the Japanese company distributed the first official photographs of the upcoming new product, in which you can see some of the appearance features.

The changes at the front are best seen in the available photographs. New original lanterns will appear here, which will now become “two-story”. In the upper part, as usual, there will be strips of LED dimensions, and just below — the main blocks of low and high beam, along with additional running lights, made in the form of diagonally located strokes. The radiator grille will become much larger in size and will lose a wide chrome frame. The bumper will also be updated with slightly modified decorative inserts along the edges, while the hood and front fenders will remain unchanged. At the rear, the changes will not be so radical. First of all, there will be headlights with new LED light graphics, as well as a slightly modified bumper.

There is no reliable information yet about changes in the technical part. The current Qashqai is built on the modular CMF-CD platform, which it shares with the third-generation X-Trail/Rogue model. In Europe, the crossover is offered with hybrid powertrains. The base Qashqai is a mild hybrid with a 1.3 petrol turbo-four (140 or 158 hp), a 12-volt starter-generator and a compact lithium-ion battery. The more expensive version is equipped with the proprietary e-Power system: a 1.5 petrol turbo engine (157 hp) works only as a generator, and the front wheels are driven by a 190-horsepower electric motor.

The premiere of the new product will take place in about a week — on April 17.
Meanwhile, the larger cross-platform X-Trail crossover recently received an “off-road” version of the N-Trek.
