The SUV will make its world premiere next week. The brand itself has not yet spoken about the technology. However, most likely, the new crossover will share the filling with the younger CX-60.
The European division of Mazda has announced a new product — the presentation of the three-row crossover CX-80 will take place on April 18. Globally, this will be the fourth model in the prestigious family of SUVs built on a platform with a longitudinal engine and primary rear-wheel drive: it will join the CX-60, CX-70 and CX-90. The Mazda CX-80 crossover will appear in many markets, with the exception of the United States. At the same time, in Europe the upcoming cross will be only the second luxury Mazda — there it will take the position of flagship.

The company accompanied its announcement with teasers. However, the design has not been a secret for a long time, because back in February, patent images of the Mazda CX-80 were posted online. Judging by them, the “eighty” will be a stretched version of the Mazda CX-60 (this crossover is strictly a five-seater). By the way, other expensive Mazdas are made according to a similar recipe: the CX-70 crossover is, in fact, a five-seat version of the CX-90, which has a three-row interior.

But you will still get some of the CX-80's features. In particular, the rear bumper will be different; The windows behind the rear pillars will be enlarged; in addition, they will be framed by more massive chrome inserts. According to the company, the length of the CX-80 will be almost five meters, the wheelbase will be more than three meters. Mazda CX-60 indicators are 4740/4745 mm (depending on the market) and 2870 mm.
The front part of the cabin will probably be designed like other prestigious crossovers. At the same time, it was announced that there will be three configurations for the second row, among the options are two individual seats “in combination with a center console.”

No word yet about technology, but most likely the Mazda CX-80 will share it with the CX-60. The range of the latter includes a 2.5 naturally-aspirated petrol engine and a 3.3 V6 in-line turbodiesel (both engines can have a mild-hybrid add-on), a crossover with a lower index also comes in the form of a full-fledged rechargeable hybrid with an installation based on a 2.5 petrol engine. Of course, the CX-80 will have all-wheel drive
In Europe, pre-orders for the new three-row crossover will begin to be accepted in May, and the new product will reach local dealers in the fall. In Germany, for example, the Mazda CX-60 today costs from 47,390 euros.
