MOSCOW, April 13 Signs by which you can identify a hacked smartphone can be its rapid discharge and heating of the device, as well as unauthorized turning on and off of the gadget, said a State Duma deputy, member of the committee on information policy, information technology and communications Anton Nemkin.
“
"Detecting that fraudsters have gained access to your device is quite difficult — usually these programs are as inconspicuous as possible. However, some signs are still worth paying attention to — for example, if your smartphone begins to heat up or freezes or suddenly reboots,” he said.
< br />According to Nemkin, a smartphone can also be hacked if it quickly discharges after short use, and applications appear and launch independently, without user intervention.
“On hacked devices, Wi-Fi also turns on and off on its own, and some users hear strange noise during calls,” the deputy added.
The parliamentarian emphasized that all these signs may be associated with the downloading of third-party software to the device, which uses the computing power of the smartphone.
» For example, such software is often “brought” to your device by unverified VPN services — they may contain viruses that are used for the extraction of digital currency, in other words, cryptocurrency mining. This can lead to heating of the phone, rapid battery consumption, increased traffic and other unpleasant features,» the deputy concluded.
