It is specified that in one day in the region more than 1.4 thousand residential buildings and over 1.2 thousand were freed from water personal plots.
To prevent flooding, operational services erected eight bulk flood control dams with a total length of more than 33 kilometers in the Ilek and Orenburg regions, as well as in Akbulak and Orenburg.
In total, 13,194 people were evacuated from dangerous zones, of which 1,150, including 220 children , placed in a temporary temporary detention facility.

    Unprecedented flood

The regions of the Southern Urals faced record floods this year. The most difficult situation is in the Orenburg region. On April 5, the dam that protected Orsk from the waters of the Ural River broke through. The authorities carried out a mass evacuation.

A federal state of emergency was introduced in the region. The regional government estimates the estimated damage from the flood at 21 billion rubles.
A state of emergency is also in effect in the Kurgan and Tyumen regions. The water level in the Tobol River, according to Roshydromet forecasts, will exceed 11 meters. In some municipalities, preventive evacuation of the population has begun.
The authorities of neighboring Kazakhstan say that the current floods are the largest in more than 80 years, and a state of emergency has been declared in some regions of the country.
