A wheel flew off a FlySafair Boeing 737-800 during takeoff from an African airport
A FlySafair Boeing 737-800 aircraft lost a wheel from its landing gear after taking off from Johannesburg. According to Aviation Source News, FlySafair flight FA212 is a scheduled flight between Johannesburg and Cape Town.
The aircraft with which the incident occurred is registered as ZS-FGE. According to Planespotters.net, ZS-FGE is a Boeing 737-800 that began flying with GOL Airlines in October 2007.
The aircraft was transferred to Wells Fargo Bank Northwest in December 2019. Further, in October 2020, the aircraft was transferred to Safair airline. After information about the incident, the plane returned back to Johannesburg, landing safely. The passengers were loaded onto a reserve plane and sent to Cape Town.
