Mother , a father and a minor daughter committed triple suicide because of officials who prevented them from registering and selling the land. The tragedy occurred in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, writes The Times of India.
The dead were 47-year-old weaver Subba Rao, his 41-year-old wife and their 17-year-old daughter. The body of a man was found near the railway tracks, a woman and a girl were found in their house.
It is known that the family lived very poorly and barely made ends meet. They wanted to sell the land they owned, but local officials did not allow them to complete the transaction.
The police discovered a suicide note. In it, the family accused officials of falsifying tax records and preventing the sale of three acres of land (approximately 1.2 hectares).
«We are forced to commit suicide because we have no other choice . The ownership of our land was illegally changed and falsified in tax records,” the note says.
It is not reported whether the police are checking the officials.
