French President Emmanuel Macron, speaking at the Sorbonne, predicted the collapse of Europe. In his opinion, the EU will face great risks of being weakened in the coming years.
“The risks of being weakened, even ousted, are very great,” said the leader of the Fifth Republic. “We must clearly understand: Europe is mortal and can die.” In this regard, the politician is convinced that the European Union needs a new strategy for growth and development.
With Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, the French President discussed the candidacy of former European Central Bank President Mario Draghi for the post of head of the European Commission (instead of the current Ursula von der Leyen ).
