A secondary rise in water is expected in the river near Ishim

TYUMEN, April 25A secondary rise in water in the Ishim River near the city of Ishim, Tyumen Region is expected; it may continue until May 3, reports the information center of the regional government.
«»It is expected that the increase in water level in the Ishim River near the city of Ishim and its tributary Karasul within the city will continue until May 3. In connection with information received on the morning of April 25 from Kazhydromet as of 8.00 (6.00 Moscow time — ed.) on April 25 on the Ishim River on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan near Petropavlovsk, the intensity of water level growth has increased over the past 24 hours,” the message states, citing data from the Ob-Irtysh Department for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring.

It is noted that the rise in water level near the city of Ishim may continue to levels of 1035-1055 centimeters. The water level will begin to decline on May 4. The water level will presumably drop below the “dangerous phenomenon” mark from May 12 to May 16.

The maximum rise in water on the river section in the city of Ishim was recorded on April 22 at 1064 centimeters, which is 214 centimeters higher than the “dangerous phenomenon” mark. After this, the water level began to gradually decrease and, according to the Tyumen Center for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring, at 20.00 (18.00 Moscow time) on Thursday it was 1026 centimeters, having decreased by 2 centimeters per day.
The state of emergency in the Tyumen region was introduced on April 8, the peak of the flood on the Ishim and Tobol rivers was expected on April 23-25. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, more than 4.6 thousand people were evacuated in the region, 692 people are in temporary accommodation centers, of which 248 are children. 178 residential buildings, 523 country houses, 2,834 personal plots, 13 low-water bridges and 17 sections of roads remain flooded in 27 settlements.
