The diesel all-terrain vehicle is offered in a single configuration. This SUV also differs from the gasoline version in its exterior design.
The second generation BAIC BJ40 frame SUV has been sold in China since last year. However, the predecessor is not going to retire, and this is exactly the all-terrain vehicle that was registered at the Kaliningrad Avtotor in 2023. Previously, the model was presented on the Russian market exclusively with a 2.0 petrol turbo engine (218 hp), but now the range has been expanded: dealers have opened orders for the diesel BJ40.
The two-liter turbodiesel produces 162 hp. and 380 Nm. Like its gasoline brother, this BAIC BJ40 has an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission and rigidly connected all-wheel drive. In addition, the diesel SUV has front and rear cross-axle differential locks — like the limited edition Champion that recently launched in the Russian Federation.
The BJ40 with a diesel engine also differs in appearance: the radiator grille has black trim instead of chrome, the insert on the front bumper has darkened, plus this SUV received black 17-inch wheels and red brake calipers. The body has a matte paint, available in black, white, red or green.

The list of equipment includes: LED optics, virtual tidy (12.3 inches), a multimedia system with a 10-inch touchscreen, dual-zone climate control, an engine start button, heated front seats, a rear view camera, front airbags and cruise control.
The recommended price of the diesel BAIC BJ40 Exclusive is 4,400,000 rubles. A gasoline SUV now costs from 4,350,000 rubles.
