MOSCOW, 26 AprilYulia Trofimova’s film “The Liar” was awarded in the “Russian Premieres” competition at the Moscow International Film Festival (MIFF), where exclusively Russian films competed for the title of best film, the correspondent reports.
The awards ceremony takes place on Friday at the capital's Rossiya Theater.
“The prize of the “Russian Premieres” competition goes to the film “The Liar” by Yulia Trofimova,” said Tatyana Lyutaeva, chairman of the jury of the “Russian Premieres” competition.
«It's a great honor to stand on this stage. This is our first time standing on this stage. Thanks to the jury, thanks to the festival. It was wonderful,» Trofimova noted, receiving the award.
MIFF is one of the oldest festivals in the world, it was first held in 1935, the chairman of the jury was director Sergei Eisenstein. Since 1959, the festival began to be held regularly. Over the past 20 years, the festival jury has been headed by the world's largest filmmakers, including Richard Gere, Theo Angelopoulos, Alan Parker, Luc Besson, Hector Babenko, Kim Ki-duk.
