Air defense doesn't help. SBU colonel raised the alarm about Russian weapons

MOSCOW, May 3.Ukrainian armed forces cannot resist Russian FPV- drones, said retired SBU Colonel Oleg Starikov on his YouTube channel.
““The biggest problem on the line of combat contact is FPV drones,” he pointed out.

According to him, Russian UAVs pose a serious problem for Ukrainians, which is quite difficult to solve: air defense systems cannot hit FPV drones, and the use of small-caliber weapons is ineffective.

He also noted the uselessness of using electronic warfare equipment, since the drones of the Russian military use non-standard frequencies.
““This problem needs to be solved at the state level,” Starikov complained.

FPV drone is a type of drone (mainly copter, but also aircraft types), controlled remotely by an operator using a remote control and virtual or augmented reality glasses, into which the image from the drone’s heading camera is transmitted. Thus, the UAV operator sees the image in front of him as if from a manned aircraft.
The West has repeatedly noted the effectiveness and destructive power of Russian-made FPV drones. Thus, Forbes reported that Russia is mass-producing such equipment to fight the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It disables a large number of armored vehicles and artillery of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
