In Moscow, the father of an escaped girl from Chechnya asked the police to let him see his daughter
In Moscow, a group of Chechens surrounded a police station on Thursday evening because of an escaped relative who was staying there. Journalist Ksenia Sobchak shared details of the development of the situation in her Telegram channel “Bloody Lady”.
She published a video in which, according to her, at least nine police officers left the Nagatino-Sadovnikov police department, where 19-year-old resident of Chechnya Liya Zaurbekova is being held.
The police crossed the road and headed towards a group of her Chechen relatives , which is on standby.
Later, footage appeared in which Zaurbekova’s father allegedly argues with police representatives and again promises that certain “our representatives” will soon arrive at the scene. He persuades him to let him see his daughter, who left her family in Chechnya, explaining that she does not need to stay here.
The rest of the relatives also began to argue with the police. Their speech is difficult to understand. The police are silent at the same time.
Relatives also stated that Liya Zaurbekova studies in the capital, but lives in Chechnya. In a conversation with employees, the girl’s relatives reported that she met a young man — not a Chechen.
Whether this is connected with her persecution cannot yet be said for sure, the author of the channel notes.
Previously, volunteers reported that a native of the Chechen Republic left her family and complained about physical and psychological pressure. In the morning, she saw her father in the yard and called the police.
The family of the runaway girl gathered at the police station, where it turned out that she was wanted as a minor. Human rights activists are afraid that they want to take her home.
The police allegedly said in a conversation with volunteers that they were not going to give the girl to anyone, since she was “not a thing.”
