The compact crossover Skoda Elroq appeared in the first teaser

The debut of the new “green” SUV of the Czech brand, designed in the style of the Vision 7S concept, is scheduled for this fall.

According to Skoda's plan, by 2026 there will be six fully electric models in the brand's lineup. By 2027, the total volume of investments in greenery should reach 5.6 billion euros. In April last year, the Czech manufacturer presented a schedule for the appearance of new products: the debut of a compact electric SUV with the working title Compact is scheduled for 2024.

    Future new Skoda products

It is known that the production model will go on sale under the name Elroq. It is reported that this electric car will be the first to feature a new corporate design, designed in accordance with the Vision 7S concept presented in 2022, and will also receive a new Skoda logo. Today the brand showed the first teaser of the future SUV.

The front part of the Skoda Elroq is not fully visible in the picture. Judging by the teaser, the new SUV of the Czech brand will have roof rails, traditional exterior mirrors, stampings on the hood, as well as LED head optics in the form of a wide strip with headlight strokes, which are connected to each other by luminous thin strips diverging to the sides from the center.

    Skoda Elroq sketch

It is known that the length of the Skoda Elroq will be approximately 4.5 meters; the company is keeping other dimensions of the future new product secret. Previously, Skoda itself positioned this crossover as an electric alternative to the Skoda Karoq (entered the European market in 2017). The interior of the new product has not yet been declassified, but it will probably be unified with other new models of the brand, including the entry-level SUV Skoda Epiq, which debuted in mid-March, although still in concept status.

Elroq will be based on the modular MEB platform developed by Volkswagen. It is known that this model will be the third Skoda model based on this “trolley”, after the Enyaq and Enyaq Coupe crossovers. It is known that the production version of the new compact SUV will debut in the fall of this year; a more specific date has not yet been specified. Let us remind you that by the end of 2026 the manufacturer intends to release six more models powered by rechargeable batteries.

One of the upcoming new products will be the already mentioned subcompact SUV – Skoda Epiq. It is known that its length will be 4.1 meters, and also that it will take the place of an entry-level electric car. Production will be established at the concern's plant located in Pamplona (Spain). The closest relatives will be the Volkswagen ID.2 and Cupra Raval. This model will go on sale on the European market next year.

There is no official information about either the “filling” of the Skoda Elroq or the Epiq technology. Regarding the starting “green” model, the company only said that the maximum power reserve on a single charge will exceed 400 km.
